Likewize Insurance Services B.V. (“LIS”) is a Dutch private limited company, established under Dutch law and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 57476829. LIS is domiciled in the Netherlands and its registered address is Zuid-Hollandlaan 7, 2596 Den Haag.
LIS is authorized and regulated as a insurance intermediary and managing agent by the Autoriteit Financiële Markten (“AFM”) in the Netherlands, registration number 12041994. The AFM maintains a register which can be accessed here.
LIS is a fully owned subsidiary of Likewize Corp in the United States. LIS, nor its ultimate parent, has any holding, direct or indirect, representing 10% or more of the voting rights in a given insurance undertaking. No insurance undertaking or parent undertaking has a holding, direct or indirect, representing 10% or more of the voting rights or of the capital of LIS.
LIS works closely together with insurance undertakings and other commercial parties to offer consumers certain insurance schemes related to mobile electronic devices. LIS does not offer any advice to consumers in selecting insurance products. LIS does not work exclusively with a single insurance undertaking when establishing certain insurance schemes. The insurance undertaking(s) underwriting a specific scheme, are set out in the policy documentation provided to the policyholder. For its handling of the insurance contracts LIS will receive remuneration from the insurance undertakings in connection with the insurance schemes actually handled. This remuneration is included in the insurance premium payable by the policyholder.
Based on the passporting facilities offered by the EU Insurance Distribution Directive (“IDD”) LIS can, on the basis of its license, execute activities to all countries in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), either through Freedom of Services (“FOS”) or through Freedom of Establishment (“FOE”), after notification to its home regulator, the AFM.
In the United Kingdom LIS has established a branch, registered with Companies House under number FC031614. The registered address of the UK branch is Weston Road, Crewe, Cheshire CW1 6BU.
The UK branch is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”), with registration number FRN 610709. The FCA maintains a register which can be accessed here
Brexit This branch is deemed authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Details of the Temporary Permissions Regime (“TPR”), which allows EEA-based firms to operate in the UK for a limited period while seeking full authorisation, are available on the Financial Conduct Authority’s website.
In Norway LIS has established a branch, registered with the Norwegian Commerce Registry, the Brønnøysund Register, under number 917 900 094. The registered address of the Norwegian branch is Verkseier Furulunds vei 46, 0668 Oslo. The AFM has notified the Norwegian financial regulator, Finanstilsynet.
